From Transition year onwards we use the Cup of Tea video to facilitate a discussion as to why initiating sex could be equated with making someone a cup of tea.
The students always see this clip initially as funny; but when we discuss the similarities it highlights the seriousness of the topic and the essential need to understand someone’s ability to give consent.
This video and discussion is then followed up using the HSE’s b4udecide consent quiz which highlights the legal age of consent in Ireland.
