A counselling session lasts approximately one hour. The average number of sessions people attend relationship counselling for is between 7 and 12 sessions but ultimately it is for the individual clients to decide whether they want a shorter or longer period of counselling.
ACCORD Dublin is a registered charity which receives financial support from both TUSLA and the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin. There is no set fee for a counselling hour as our preference is for people to use the service if they need it. However ACCORD Dublin does rely heavily on client donations in order to cover overheads. Your counsellor will be happy to discuss with you a level of donation that you are comfortable with.
You can ring or e-mail one of our 11 Centres where the Centre administrator will be able to arrange an appointment for you in the morning or evening depending on the Centre opening hours and your availability to attend a counselling session. Sometimes there may a short waiting list but most clients are seen quickly within a week or two. The first session will include a Needs Assessment where the counsellor will help you to identify the areas that you feel you might need support with. After that counselling sessions are usually on a weekly basis. All are welcome!
